What do you get when you shove rabies in a bullet? Zombies, mother eating zombies.
Rabies. It sucks. Bird flu. It suck. Human immunodeficiency virus. It sucks balls. Add them all together and what do you have? Grab your machete and 12-gauge kids! It's zombie time! Is this devils cocktail ever likely to happen? Not in nature, but this is America. land of doing whatever messed up shit we wanna spend money on.
January 1st, 2020.
The Mayans were right; 2012 marked the end of the world as we know it. The OWNers as they are now known as spread like wild fire. the chaos and general anarchy caused by them led the President to making the biggest change in American history. shifting from a capitalist state to a communist state. the stock market froze for three days before plunging into free fall. for the next month the market could be open for no more then an hour before shutting down from sell orders. With the USD now worth as much as toilet paper people resorted to the one thing they had left. Anarchy. The President attempted to declare martial law but with almost no one to enforce it, Chaos ruled. The United States of America as we once knew it burned with the oval office. The man that wanted to change america more then anything, tied to his seat to burn with the monster he created.
Today North America looks much different, now just states were governed by micro states. each group governed their own way, Much of south and northern Mexico is now in the hands of king Mustang Ranger. head of the star empire. With electrical plants shutting down and water being turned off people quickly left large city's for smaller groups. Eight years later life has started to reach a "norm" again, a post modern era is born. have returned to a 1700's life style with modern technology. most people have small personal power sources. People have ripped the alternators and useful parts out of the long since parked SUV's. Children are now raised learning how to read and write during the day when it's light, and martial arts and marksmanship after dark. One of the draw back of anarchy in the early days is people didn't work together to fight a common enemy. the zombie. no one knows where it came from. the first ones ever seen were wearing military clothing. Most people believe a group of people had already created the "rage virus" for military use before the fall, and it wasn't unleashed until someone stole it and in their insanity opened Pandora's box.
Zombies aren't really reincarnated humans. Zombies didn't die, they just got sick. The Z virus is (as far as we can tell) a combination of Rabies, Bird Flu, and HIV. It seems to me at the writing of this that the HIV and Rabies mutated in such a way that it makes the Rabies effects far more powerful. Because of how Rabies effects the brain this "super" rabies burns out the frontal cortex, reducing them to nothing but aggressive animals. their illness still keeps their sympathetic and para-sympathetic nerve system. Which unfortunately means zombies can reproduce. So why Bird flu? this monster is not only air born albeit weakly but also give the disease a vector. A second way out. Birds are a carrier for the Z virus, at this time they show no signs or symptoms. However ALL bird meat may be contaminated. So poultry is never eaten now. There is no cure, no treatment, no vaccine yet.
As other are celebrating the survival of another year. My self and a few others are developing a vaccine to the z virus. We are close, but it's hard when you only have high school biology kit and windows 7.
