Anime Boston 2014 recap!

Image
Wow. Just Wow! This was my first ever Con so I had no idea what to expect. In many aspects it was great and terrible. Having lived in Maine my whole life I've never really ran into the problem of literally thousands of people trying to fit into a much smaller space. Trying to get into the first showing of Attack on Titan  was comparable to going to a Best buy on black Friday. The line almost circled the hynes convention center... The line went from outside exsibit hall D down the small hallway, all the way down and back Boylston hallway and half way to pre function hall C! That's when I got in a half hour before. we didn't make it into the showing on Saturday. Luckily they added one one Sunday. It was amazing and worth the wait. From what I've learned a large part of the issue was the fact that Anime  Boston is trying to slim down and focus on just anime. Panels were cut and sadly panels had to turn many people away because thy couldn't fill slots like in year...

2014 Resolutions!

With the adventure of 2013 behind us it is time to look forward and upward! As always I am going to attempt multiple resolutions. I expect to successfully achieve like one... So that's something at least. But here are my resolutions! Start living a healthier lifestyle. Being more active in general as well as working out. Eating better healthier foods. My friend Damien  and I are going to be each others accountability buddies and coaches! I almost said couches! Read. I don't have the best reading skills or speed and I know I need to get better especially with college so I'm hoping if I start reading more difficult books and focusing on making my reading ability better I'll get better!  Start creating more creative content! I've pretty much given up on painting or drawing of any sort but I love writing, acting, and making stuff! so I really want to do more of that to help my brain keep active. So those are my resolutions, I do need one thing from you. Yes yo...

Do good things, It's the only way to survive.

"It's simple really. You can't discuss politics like Syria in a university setting anymore; We have too many Middle Eastern students that think totally different from American students. We can't come to a clear, answer with all of these people thinking wrongly of us". - the genius state university students sitting at the next table.      I don't know what hurt worse, trying to keep with the crowd and eating my soup before it was cool, or the absolute atrocious logic from this "university student". As my tongue and ears burned from their respective assaults I watched as these two people talked of the great imperfections of the world. They were both going to be great scholars and thinkers and had to think of the global issues. I slowly chewed through my sandwich and slurped my soup as I listened, painfully, as they both debated the same small sliver of reality they lived in. I looked at them and couldn't help but be grateful of my "simp...

What do you do, when you do to much, but don't have enough to do?

With the fall semester done and my program not actually starting until fall of 2014 I've hit an awkward place.  I don't know what to do with my time. I mean I still work 60+ hours a week, but I don't have brain burning work to fill every waking (and some sleeping) hour of my life! Like, I still have nightmares about just needing to find X! So I'm working on things to start doing to occupy my mind. Here's my list so far. This blog! I want to be move active writing in general. I have no idea where i want to go with this. I want it to be a conglomeration of what's going on. i might write about interesting calls I do. Things I'm learning/studying, recent musings, and other projects.  Returning to YouTube. I don't want to "vlog" or V-log as will start calling it thanks to Danisnotonfire . I enjoy acting, writing, and insanity... so V-logs and skits seem perfect for me... Magic the gathering! *sigh* This is slowly but surely becoming a new thin...

Christmas trees and killer bears!

Image
On Monday Eliza and i managed to have mos of a day off together, this being a small miracle in of it's self meant it was time to get into the Christmas spirit! We had been meaning to build gingerbread houses and get a tree for weeks but our schedules weren't about to allow it. But on this wonderful Monday we were able to get some time together and go get our tree! Now being the wonderful, enviormental, tree hugging, good people we are we decided to forgo a the tradition of going and cutting down an evergreen for the pleasure of growing one! We got this sweet heart who is now living on our kitchen table and when late spring rolls around we're going to go find a good place for her to live. preferably in a grove of her fellow kind that will give her insight and guide her to become a big strong tree. However, for now she is our baby. Like all babies she is best kept high up on a table with a bow and wrapped up in lights! With our lovely tree watered and spar...

My fall semester.

Image
So for this upcoming semester I am going to use only Google drive to take notes, write papers, and make presentations. Luckily my school uses Google apps for students! I get a free drive with 30Mg and I'm hoping faculty is more Google friendly.  For this semester I have: A&P 1 With Lab College Algebra Intro to Literature Intro to Psych Freshman Interest Groups ~ EMS I'm excited to start a full college load. I know I'll have to figure out what works best for me for studying luckily I have a great campus to study on. This blog is going to become (hopefully) a frequent update on school work and EMS adventures.

married for a full week!

Image
So this post is mostly going to be pictures from our Honeymoon/Vacation, We went up to Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor for the week. We stayed on the "quiet side" in Southwest Harbor. It was nice to have a solid week away after we've been working so much and planning the wedding. I'm sure I'll post wedding pictures when we get them.  The Cottage we stayed at all week. The car guardian was happy to go to Acadia too! Please don't try to watch the whole park loop now. It's 30 minutes long! but our random commentary is always nice to listen to! Rated PG-13 for language! So we had a great week! We're home now and working on getting our Apartment in living order, Writing thank you cards for the multitude of gifts we got from everyone, and continuing to "get married." Only 79 years and 51 weeks to go!
