600 hours in.

it's now coming to the end of July. I've put in over 600 hundred hours for delta since mid may. I've been talking to the medics about skills and assessment. I've been getting my fare share of hands on practice moving Pts, dealing with issues, paperwork, documentation. All that fun stuff. So now I've got to start trying to get cleared for ALS.  Now, I know HIPPA is a legit thing so I can't talk about patients. However. I do know I'm not gaining or refining skills bringing people to alcohol detox. Don't get me wrong. I love my job! Even if it's something stupid I'm still helping people a hell of a lot more then selling donuts and coffee. However, the basic truck is getting monotonous. I am gonna shoot for just one ALS shift every so often like one every week or two, but I honestly think I'm ready. Am I? No. Its just like driving. It doesn't matter how long you study or how many times you talk about it, all that matters is what you do behind the wheel. Do you fuck up the first time? Absolutely! You need to learn from it and move forward so you can get better.

We'll see how it goes. I have to talk to the education director when he gets back. Till then.

Finally! I have in my hands my NREMT certification and my Maine EMS license! Thank you mail man! My pretty little certification Some swag! I don't know what I'm going to put it on. I might get a spring coat and put it on that. Last but not lease my NREMT card!  I'm also signed up for my Paramedic class in September which is good. It will be interesting to try and manage work, school, and life but i'm excited for the challenge. I would be interested to hear some poor medic student stories if People have them.

How-to, a festival.

How-To Festival and Block Party This was the 3rd annual How-To Festival . I've never been to a "How-To" festival before, It was very interesting! From writing prompts to 3D printing, a large variety of arts were present. My personal favorite were tech related of course. I learned that the Maine State Library UP room is a thing! While I haven't had the opportunity to work on projects, I hope to in the very near future! I entirely understand that this video is not a production miracle. My goals are just to create. I've spent months watching videos on how to make videos... Yet I haven't been making them... So, I have to start somewhere. I am hoping to do a weekly Adventure log to be posted on Mondays. I just found my school has an open computer lab on Mondays! I am really excited to start working on a decent computer! I will be making more content as time goes on! THAT unknown medical.

     You're called to residence for an unknown medical.  Short response time to scene.      Once you arrive you gain access by unlocked door and find patient slumped to the right in a kitchen chair and moaning "oh my head, it hurts" over and over.  Patient responds to speech by only continued moans.  Patients medications suggest significant cardiac history.  Patient rapidly moved to stair chair and moved to ambulance.  While moving patient from the house he stops moaning and is no longer responding to voice, only painful stimulus.
