Medic Vs. Door, door won.

So I've decided I'm not meant to work a 1000-2200 shift. They just end badly. The first one I went off road in a truck, the second I had a close encounter with lice, the third I spent almost 3 hours in the ER when my medic closed AND LATCHED the side ambulance door on her finger... Nether of us could figure out how her finger actually got in the door. I got pictures of the stitches after but not before for her sake. She broke off the joint capsule of her right index (luckily she's left handed) and needed 9 stitches!

Finally! I have in my hands my NREMT certification and my Maine EMS license! Thank you mail man! My pretty little certification Some swag! I don't know what I'm going to put it on. I might get a spring coat and put it on that. Last but not lease my NREMT card!  I'm also signed up for my Paramedic class in September which is good. It will be interesting to try and manage work, school, and life but i'm excited for the challenge. I would be interested to hear some poor medic student stories if People have them.

How-to, a festival.

How-To Festival and Block Party This was the 3rd annual How-To Festival . I've never been to a "How-To" festival before, It was very interesting! From writing prompts to 3D printing, a large variety of arts were present. My personal favorite were tech related of course. I learned that the Maine State Library UP room is a thing! While I haven't had the opportunity to work on projects, I hope to in the very near future! I entirely understand that this video is not a production miracle. My goals are just to create. I've spent months watching videos on how to make videos... Yet I haven't been making them... So, I have to start somewhere. I am hoping to do a weekly Adventure log to be posted on Mondays. I just found my school has an open computer lab on Mondays! I am really excited to start working on a decent computer! I will be making more content as time goes on! Norepinephrine(Levophed) usage in ME EMS protocol

From the ME EMS Protocols : A. Preperation - Mix NOREPINephrine 8 mg in 250 ml NS.  B. Dosing - Starting Dose is NOREPINephrine 0.03    μg(mcg)/kg/min. Titrate by 0.03  μg(mcg)/kg/min every 3-5 minutes. Usual dose is 0.03-0.25  μg(mcg)/kg/min. Usual max dose is 0.6  μg(mcg)/kg/min. Absolute max dose is 3  μg(mcg)/kg/min C. Titrate to maintain SBP greater than 90 mm Hg. For 2013 the  Medical Direction and Practice Board decided to move away from Dopamine to  Norepinephrine.
